The Rhodes Scholarship is the world’s oldest and most prestigious graduate scholarship, funding fully-costed postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. For the 2027 cohort, the Rhodes Trust has opened dedicated application windows for African candidates, including a Kenya/East Africa constituency.
What it covers: Full Oxford course fees, a generous living stipend, return airfare at the start and end of the scholarship, and additional grants for thesis/research costs.
Eligibility: Citizens of Kenya (and, through related constituencies, other East and Southern African nations) who are in the final year of an undergraduate degree or have recently graduated, and who show exceptional academic achievement, character, leadership, and commitment to service. Age limits and exact constituency boundaries are set by the Rhodes Trust each cycle, so check your specific country’s window.
